When the 7000 was released (I went to the UK launch party and smuggled a bag of food out with me for the train journey home), rechargeable batteries were invariably ni-cd, usually 1.2V rather than 1.5V and a higher current I thought I had seen a string or link about replacing the internal battery in the 7000 (a do it yourself bit) but can't seem to google it again on photo.net
